Terms and Conditions

PRICING
All prices shown are in Pounds Sterling (£) per person per night (unless otherwise stated) based on 2 people sharing a twin or double room for one or more consecutive nights. All prices include Value Added Tax at the current prevailing rate (17.5%). Prices are subject to change without notice. However, your price is guaranteed once you are given a confirmation and the deposit has been paid.
For the avoidance of doubt, your price does not include any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay (including, by way of example only, in respect of your use of the hotel's bar and the cost of external telephone calls from your room). Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with the “Isles Hotel Group” that you irrevocably authorise the Isles Hotel Group to debit your credit or debit card (see 'Deposits and Pre-payments' below) for the amount of any shortfall.

WHAT THE PRICE INCLUDES
Prices include bedrooms with colour TV, direct dial telephone, private en suite bathroom and full Scottish breakfast.

MEAL ARRANGEMENTS
Those breaks which include dinner, offer a choice from the hotel’s table d’hôte menu served in our Restaurant or a bar meal. There is no refund for meals which are not taken by guests on these breaks. For guests on Bed and Breakfast breaks, the option to have dinner in our restaurant is available or alternatively we serve bar meals in our Lounge Bar.

SINGLE GUESTS
All rates are based on 2 persons sharing a twin/double room and are per person per night. Double/twin rooms used for single occupancy will be subject to a Single Supplement Charge.

CHILDREN

Children under the age of 5 can stay and eat free at our hotel when sharing a room with 2 paying adults.
Children from the ages of 5 to 12 will be charged at £29.50 per child per night - this covers the cost of bed & breakfast. All other meals will be charged for as taken - this rate applies when sharing a room with 2 paying adults where a suitable room is available.
Availability of suitable rooms is limited and portable beds may need to be used where such accommodation is sought.

BABY SITTING
A baby sitting service may be provided as a chargeable extra. Where baby sitting services are available, 7 days advance notice of your baby sitting requirements is required by the hotel. For more information on availability and booking of our baby sitting services, please call 01870 603030

PETS
Dogs are welcomed within the hotel under the condition that any damage caused by the pet is covered by you.

CAR PARKING
Car parking is free at our hotel. Vehicles left in the hotel car park are left at the owners risk and the hotel cannot take responsibility for any damage caused to vehicles left in the vicinity of the hotel.

CHECKING IN AND OUT
Arrival and Departure
Hotel rooms are available from 14.00 hrs on the day of arrival. Rooms must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure, unless otherwise sanctioned at the discretion of the hotel manager.

SMOKING
Smoking is permitted in designated bedrooms of the hotel only and these rooms are allocated on a first come first served basis. Smoking in any public area is strictly prohibited and it is an offence to do so by law. Should we find any evidence that this rule has been broken, you authorise us to debit your credit or debit card with a cleaning fee of £60.00 and unfortunately you shall be suspended from further visits to the hotel.

DEPOSITS AND PRE-PAYMENTS

You will be asked to guarantee your booking with a valid credit or debit card as confirmation of a reservation. Persons making a booking within 7 days of arrival will be required to pay their booking in full. For information on cancellations, please see cancellations and amendments.

BALANCE OF MONIES OUTSTANDING
Prior to your departure from the hotel you will be required to settle your bill.
On arrival you will be asked to produce a valid debit or credit card for the hotel to record. If you are settling your account in cash, you will be asked for a deposit to cover the cost of your room for your stay (and any extras which you may incur in the hotel will not be chargeable to your room account). The Isles Hotel Group accepts all major credit cards, including MasterCard & Visa. Alternatively, payment can be made by cheque supported by a current cheque guarantee card.

CANCELLATIONS AND AMENDMENTS
Please note that losses arising from the cancellation or curtailment of confirmed contracts - where we are unable to re-let the accommodation - may rise to the following cancellation charges:
Up to 24 hours prior to arrival - Initial Deposit
Less than 24 hours prior to arrival - 100% of Contract Value
We recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance. “Arrival” will be treated as Noon.

COMPLAINTS OR COMMENTS

Any complaint or comment regarding a stay at our hotel should be made in the first instance to the hotel’s duty manager at the time of your stay so that it can be resolved promptly.
Problems which cannot be resolved there and then should be notified in writing to the General Manager, The “Isles Hotel Group”, Creagorry, Isle of Benbecula, HS7 5PJ.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained in our terms and conditions, we cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions, and reserve the right to vary, amend, supplement or cancel any of the information or offers featured at any time.
Dark Island Hotel shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which you may suffer arising from events beyond its control or the control of its suppliers (including, without limitation, fire, failure of electrical, gas or other power supplies, strikes, industrial action, terrorist activity, technical problems with transport, illness of entertainers and bad weather), nor for any curtailment, cancellation or change to any accommodation, activity or itinerary or any other consequences which arise as a result of such events.

For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these terms and conditions shall operate to attempt to exclude or limit the Company's liability for the death or personal injury of any person caused by the negligence of the Company or its employees, servants or agents or to attempt to exclude or limit the Company's liability in any manner which would be unlawful.
